Ive been pleasantly surprised with what have found here
its much more sense of community.
Ive been pleasantly surprised with what found here in
the Silicon Valley its not factory after factory making
microchips which is what had envisioned But there
really are intact communities with families and shops and
people The people are very nice very caring very down
to earth normal unlike my envisioning of wacky California
people If Stuart chooses to come live here think it
would be nice place for him to live
Well anytime you want to send an almost or maybe just
barely eighteen year old away 3000 miles on his own sure
there are some reservations think hell be okay He
will be okay
Well think hes ready for this movement towards
independence And the people that Ive met here seem very
caring and not that theyll baby sit him but think they
will look out for his well being in more ways than one
And from what Ive seen its very caring community at
Netscape
would not have any hesitation of Stuart going to work for
Netscape in light of the merger with AOL or being here in
Silicon valley think he has probably for the first time
found group of people that he can really talk to and
identify with and for him its probably lot like coming
home
No dont think have any hesitation professionally
other than him being young and being thrown into work
setting that may require more maturity but hell have to
develop that quickly
We really have not looked for apartments Weve got some
newspapers and magazines that have some information about
apartments that well take back with us think Stuart is
hopeful that if he is hired and can come back that he can
find and share an apartment with someone And he has made
enough contacts now at Netscape that if theres someone
looking for roommate that might work out
His time frame think he would love to come early summer-
-mid to late June
Stuart would like very much to come back as soon as
possible
In reality he does not want to go home But he really
does want to come back as soon as possible Possibly in
June and set up housekeeping and go to work
think Stuart would love to come back here to Silicon
Valley probably in the Mountainview are if hes hired as
soon as he can Probably mid to late June if they will
have him that soon hed love to get back here quickly
dont know what Stuart will do about his education
Right now he is very ready to be out of school situation
and into working situation Hes really think been
miserable all through high school and hes really ready to
get out of that situation and into something that he really
likes to do and is very good at And in that sense working
is going to be real joy for him hope that at some
point he will see the need to go back to college and pursue
degree for his own benefit later on down the road
Im going to start crying It gets real scary here Give
me one minute have to calm back to down cant talk
right now
Thats my loss Its like somebody dying Its sad for
them so much as youre sad for yourself
have to try to separate that This is whats really good
for him think He really needs to be here
Im convinced he needs to be here This is place where
he will thrive for the first time probably But its
just terrifying to think of him being so far away
After being here for almost week in Mountainview and
visiting its great community think think the
people weve met are very nice think the Netscape
people are great And guess in light of that and having
been her my dream for Stuart would be to just pursue what
his gifts are Just take it as far as. .go for it Weve
always said that and now hes kind of done it and were not
quite sure what to do about that You know would feel
comfortable with him coming here as much as any mother
could letting her child go far away
think that in Georgia there are very few people that he
has been able to communicate with as far as technically
about what he can do and what her likes to do And thats
made it hard socially think School has been less than
fun Its been something to be tolerated and to be gotten
through And think hes kind of come home here You
know there are people he can talk to and identify with
even though age-wise and maturity-wise they may be
little ahead But think hell catch up
