The real reason that we all know is that he wants to maintain complete control over
the mail source has he drunk the cool aid and think thats big part of why dot
exists think that that was like
strategic move on his
part

some additional people and have the Web client Mail API and do plug in platdrop
you know drop in your favorite mail reader and just completely obsolete it You
know everybody want that anyway you know three months from now
everybody at Netscape other than John Feinstein working on 4.5 is gonna be
ringing the door
Michael said that can ship the dot source It wont build and it wont be
integrated and it will be like three weeks work for somebody to actually hook it up
to single front end but he said can put the source out so maybe that 11 be useful
for someone you know maybe theyll take that and theyll run with it cause you
know it is about 15% of the size of the full thing with mail source
Well youd have to sanitize the mail source

JZ already did that it took half an hour...the mail source was written and by me
and terry you know there was no thlparty code in it There might be some
crypto stuff still have to rip out have to talk to Jeff cause actually whatll be is it
wont be the mail source remember the 302 branch was trying to do it will
be 20 plus mime and so this will be 20 plus mime minus mime

The depend builds are messed up but the clobber builds are fine so...weve just
restarted the depend builds

dependencies. .and we dont have good dependency handling which is not used

get our merge over with and then doing some work to actually make it work with

JR All right sent out an e-mail saying the tree is now open til 10 pm and said and
put this on Bonsai as well so...I think think people are probably aware of that
thinking in those terms sent nice message you know sort of like hey guy
Im in control you know that sort of message So read what sent but the bottom
line is we have til 10 pm and at that point think we might want to go for this
check in so theres little lessfea here
